OUR PURPOSE

Our purpose is to help the brave people of Ukraine, both inside Ukraine and around the world. At this time we are soliciting photos, stories, and ideas on how we can support the Ukrainian people.

We are not set up to collect financial aid but we have a list of groups that are set up and in operation.

SHARE A MESSAGE OF HOPE

We have put together a message board that will allow those in Ukraine and around the world to see and know how much we support them. It is free and easy to do!

SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE

This is a list of organizations supporting the brave people of Ukraine. We will be updating the list as we discover more and can verify them.

Catholic Relief Services

According to CRS, more than 2.9 million people in Ukraine need assistance. Families, forced to flee their homes, are seeking refuge and safety in neighboring countries.

Also working with Caritas, CRS seeks to provide resources like safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, transport, and counseling.

“When you donate, you provide immediate assistance for your Ukrainian sisters and brothers affected by this crisis,” the website reads.

Ukrainian Crisis Relief

All donations to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will support humanitarian assistance in impacted communities in Ukraine and surrounding regions where Ukrainian refugees have fled. GlobalGiving’s local partners are bringing relief to terrified and displaced communities, and they need resources to continue their life-saving work.

Your donation to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will provide:

  • Shelter, food, and clean water for refugees
  • Health and psychosocial support
  • Access to education and economic assistance
  • And more

Samaritan’s Purse

Samaritan’s Purse is responding to growing needs in Eastern Europe as fighting continues in Ukraine. More than 1 million refugees have fled the conflict. We have Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members on the ground, and an Emergency Field Hospital will be deployed soon.

In response to rising conflict in Ukraine, Samaritan’s Purse has deployed a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to the surrounding areas to assess urgent needs on the ground. Please pray for God’s strength and protection for hurting families and Samaritan’s Purse teams in Poland and Romania.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus announced Feb. 25 a commitment of $1 million for immediate distribution to support Ukrainian refugees, including Ukrainian Knights and their families impacted by the recent Russian invasion of their country. The organization has also launched the Ukraine Solidarity Fund, an international fundraising campaign that will match all funds raised up to an additional $500,000.

The relief funding will be used to provide shelter, food, medical supplies, clothing and religious goods, as well as other humanitarian needs as identified, both directly in Ukraine and through refugee sites in Poland. The Knights will work with both the Latin and Greek Catholic Churches in Ukraine, with dioceses and K of C councils in Poland, and with international humanitarian aid agencies to address needs quickly and effectively.

Save the Children

Ukraine’s children are in grave danger of physical harm, severe emotional distress and mass displacement.

Save the Children is concerned for children caught in the middle of armed conflict, forced from their homes in freezing temperatures, and exposed to injury, hunger and cold.

Your donation to Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund can help provide children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance. Together, we can protect children in crisis.

United Help Ukraine

The unfolding of horrific events has put United Help Ukraine, a 501(c)(3) U.S.-based organization, in the spotlight and we felt the outpouring of human support from people around the globe.

As of this date, we have raised over $4 million dollars and are waiting for expedited delivery of funds raised in our Facebook fundraisers.

In light of the war in Ukraine and the most current needs, our board of directors and volunteers decided to continue focusing our efforts first on providing life-saving individual first aid kits (IFAKs containing blood-stopping bandages and tourniquets) and other emergency medical supplies to the front lines.

UMCOR International Disaster Response and Recovery

United Methodists and others wishing to provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion of their country may contribute to Advance #982450, UMCOR International Disaster Response and Recovery. This fund will provide direct assistance to those in Ukraine as well as assistance to Ukrainians fleeing to neighboring countries.

One hundred percent of all Advance contributions go to the designated cause.

The United Methodist community in Ukraine, though quite small, is actively engaged in assisting neighbors in need. Global Ministries is in touch with the church’s leadership as well as with church leaders in countries welcoming those who are fleeing from violence in Ukraine.

World Central Kitchen

When disaster strikes, WCK’s Chef Relief Team mobilizes to the front lines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need.

Since the day after the attack from Russia began, WCK has been serving meals to thousands of families escaping the violence in Ukraine and people still remaining in the country each day. Over one million people have fled—including women, children, and seniors—with the number expected to continue rising.

Providing hot meals across five countries, WCK has met incredible chefs and volunteers who are cooking for people in need. We have also heard amazing stories of resilience from families leaving everything behind in search of safety. Below are some of the people we have had the honor of working with and meeting.

Amid ongoing threats of explosion & gunfire, WCK partner Yaposhka Restaurant in Kharkiv, Ukraine continues to provide fire departments, orphanages, shelters, hospitals, and anyone in need with hot, nourishing meals out of four kitchens. Earlier this week, a missile hit about 500 yards away from their business, and some days the team cooks in the dark while hearing planes attacking up above. Despite all of this and sleeping in bomb shelters for several days now, staff at Yaposhka show up every day with a smile, ready to cook for neighbors in need.

International Relief Teams

You can make a difference for suffering families fleeing Ukraine! Working through local partners, your donation will enable us to provide food, water, shelter and other urgent necessities to refugees flooding in Poland.

On February 24, Russia launched an unprovoked attack against the Ukrainian people, the largest invasion of one country by another in Europe since World War II. More than 2 million refugees have fled their homes to escape the advancing Russian forces, and now face a very uncertain and difficult future.

Working through local partners, we are distributing food to refugees along the Ukraine border with Poland. With your help, we will continue to provide food, water, shelter and other urgent necessities to families (including thousands of unaccompanied children) who are in desperate need of your compassion.
